Randy Shiff
Principal Partner and Co-Founder
As co-founder and principal partner of Tivona Capital, Randy Shiff has led over 25 investments, ranging from real estate development projects to cybersecurity startups. Before founding Tivona Capital, Mr. Shiff was associated with the law firm of Borden & Elliot (now Borden Elliot Gervais) from 1991 to 1997. Mr. Shiff has been involved in the development and renovation of over 40 shopping centres; the refurbishment of a major office building in a London, England suburb; and the development of self-storage facilities in Ontario, amongst other varied experiences. Outside of his professional work, Mr. Shiff is heavily involved in communal endeavors and has served as a director of UJA Federation of Greater Toronto (and its committees) and as an executive committee member of United Israel Appeal Federations Canada.
Mr. Shiff studied at New York University Law School (LL.M, 1980), Osgoode Hall Law School (LL.B, 1978) and the University of Toronto (1973), and is a Member of the Ontario Bar.
Donna Starkman
Senior Advisor and Co-Founder
Donna Starkman is co-founder of Tivona Capital and has been actively involved in the operational control and decision making of the company since inception. Prior to the founding of Tivona Capital, Ms. Starkman practiced law at Epstein Cole LLP. Ms. Starkman is actively involved in community activities, most recently as a senior officer and board member of Netivot Hatorah Day School and Shaarei Shomayim Synagogue and as a board member of the Canada Israel and Jewish Advocacy Local Partnership.
Ms. Starkman is a graduate of the University of Toronto Law School (LL.B, 1979) and University of Toronto (B.A., 1976) and is a member of the Ontario Bar.
Mark Finkelstein
Chief Financial Officer
Mark Finkelstein has over 30 years of senior finance and business building experience. As Chief Financial Officer, he oversees Tivona Capital’s investment portfolio, leads strategic planning and implementation, and is responsible for the group’s accounting, finance, treasury and administration functions.
Previously, as Chief Financial Officer at Kestrel Capital Management Corp., Mr. Finkelstein was responsible for the financial management of a multi-faceted and geographically diverse investment portfolio. Mr. Finkelstein has also held senior financial positions in the heavy equipment, consumer goods, and entertainment industries.
Mr. Finkelstein is a CA, CPA.
Clinton Miller
Accounting and Tax Specialist
Clinton Miller is responsible for the accounting and taxation at Tivona Capital.
Mr. Miller has extensive real estate experience, having overseen the administration and finance in a family owned development company. He has also worked in the tax department of a professional accounting firm. Most recently Mr. Miller has acted as a tax consultant for a number of clients.
Mr. Miller has his CGA designation.
